Aurora Savira
Hi there!

Me name's Aurora Savira and I am an active player of Second Life. Argh, Argh, Argh~

(What the hell is Second Life? click this link to find out)

If you are a resident, you will know that "Aurora Savira" is a pseudonym. Yes! It's not my real name, but I use it in-world as my resident name. And no, it does not point out to a particular race that I belong to. I remember a guy I've randomly met in SL (Second Life), who thought I was Indian because of my last name. Lol, honestly, I could have picked "Brentley" or "Skytower" as my last name, but the randomized last name chooser picks out a limited list to choose from. At that time, neither Brentley or Skytower matched my name Aurora.

In my next blog entries, I highly doubt that I will ever enclose any personal information about my Real Life such as my real name, job, or where I specifically live. I find SL as another parallel world to the real one, but it's more appealing and interesting as the first one.

Anyone can be anybody they want in SL. They can customize their appearances, to be DJs despite of how unexperienced they are in RL (real life), to dance and be escorts if they want to, to be models, clothing designers, architects and so forth. There are many opportunities that SL holds, surprisingly, it's becoming more than just a game... people actually do make RL investment out of it!

I have observed people who do not take SL as only a game. They take it as a real life business, an investment that they hope to flourish. Residents of SL usually invest their money on land properties, which costs about 100- 300 DOLLARS. Crazy huh? Even though Linden Currency is used in SL, Real dollar money is the main fuel to Second Life's economy.

Now that I've had experience in handling land properties, I understand how they work. Most SL residents rent out a piece of land and usually pay tiers ( a term used in SL which simply means rents) on a weekly or monthly bases. However, If you think about it, the main owner of the land does make lots of Linden money, which can be turned into Dollar currency. If the main owner holds an entire sim with so many lands that people rent, he/she can earn about $30 - $300 weekly and maybe more than that. It all depends on how many people rent and how big the land they are renting. Obviously, the bigger the land, the more expensive it can get.

Even though Second Life seems like one of those teenage gaming, don't be fooled! You'll be surprised how old the gamers are. It's averaged around 30-48 year olds who are either single (less likely), married , divorced or widowed in RL. Therefore, MATURITY is required! And drama... inevitable lol.

So that sums up my first blog entry. It's about my mind endlessly ranting about SL business, SL business, SL business. And yes, I do own my own business which you will eventually find out hehe!
